I may be a little ethnocentric, but aren’t we the top of the evolutionary ladder? As such I think that it falls upon the lower life-forms to evolve in such a way as to not cause us to produce digestive gasses. We’ve payed our dues, as a species, it’s high time that the rest of creation ponies-up.

Of course it is “species-centric”. That is the whole point of being at the top… So that you can be “centric”…
