My manager chewed me out for not doing my job right. Which is hypocritical, because he obviously botched it when he hired me.

I tried this excuse once. It didn’t go so well. I was told that, “Since he hired me, he could fire me… Figure it out…” I did, I quit, but that was apparently not the right answer…
